Abstract: This study aimed to examine the impact of combining songs and the

Board Rush Technique on vocabulary mastery among seventh-grade students at
SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Purwokerto. The research employed a quasi-experimental
design using cluster random sampling, involving two classes: Class VII Sains 2 as
the experimental group, which received instruction using a combining of songs
and the Board Rush Technique, and Class VII Sains 1 as the control group, which
was taught using conventional teaching methods. Data were gathered through pre-
tests and post-tests consisting of 25 multiple-choice questions that assessed
vocabulary components such as word meaning, word formation, word classes and
grammar, connotation, and reading comprehension. The data were analyzed using
IBM SPSS Statistics 27. Results from the paired-sample t-test indicated
significant improvement in both groups. However, the independent-sample t-test
showed that the experimental group achieved significantly higher post-test scores
than the control group (sig. 0.000 < 0.05). These findings suggest that integrating
songs with the Board Rush Technique contributes positively to vocabulary
development by promoting active student engagement, enjoyment of learning, and
through interactive and context-rich activities. participation
