Abstract: This study seeks to assess the effect of creation song on students'
vocabulary mastery in the fourth grade of SDN 04 Belik, Pemalang. This study
employs quasi-experimental design and quantitative approach. The population was
the fourth grade students of SDN 04 Belik, Pemalang, which consisted of 91
students. The sample chosen through random sampling, comprising 59 students,
with class IV-A designated as the experimental group and class IV-B as the control
group. In collecting data, this study used a pre-test and post-test in the form of
matching form and short meaning vocabulary answer form. In order to analyze the
data, this study used IBM SPSS V30 for Windows. The result of paired sample t-
test indicated a significant difference on students' vocabulary mastery before and
after the treatment in experimental group. The pre-test mean was 39.86, whereas
the mean score for the post-test was 78.89. The Independent sample t-test
demonstrated that the value of t-count exceeded the value of t-table (5.86 > 1.67).
The probability (sig.2-sided p) was found to be less than threshold of significance,
it was 0.001 < 0.05. Given that the t-count exceed the t-table and the p-value is less
than 0.05, one could conclude that the null hypothesis is rejected in favor of
alternative hypothesis. Furthermore, the N-gain score test yielded a result of
78.09% surpassing the 76% benchmark, indicating that the implementation of
creation song proves to be effective as a medium in gaining students' vocabulary
mastery.
